Alamosa Car Rentals
Rental Charges
You must pay all rental charges specified in your rental agreement including but not limited to daily/weekly rental fees, late return fees, extra mileage charge, refueling cost, fines, parking tickets, and other fees related to the rental.
Optional Coverage
You may opt to purchase optional coverage allowed by your rental agreement at an additional cost if desired. Optional coverage may include liability protection as well as additional protection against damage or theft associated with renting a vehicle from us. Please note that this is completely optional and not required for renting vehicles from us.
Interior/Exterior Damage
in case of excessive mess or stains in interior/exterior damage of the vehicle caused by you during the rental period may require a non-refundable deposit in order to cover any necessary repairs upon returning the vehicle.
Prohibited Use
The use of our vehicles are strictly prohibited for operating without proof of insurance, reckless driving, off-roading or other illegal purposes as well as carrying more passengers than seatbelts allow. We reserve the right to report any such activities to authorities should we discover such prohibited use during our inspection process upon returning a rented vehicle. Failure to comply with these restrictions will result in immediate forfeiture of all rights granted by this Agreement including but not limited to eligibility for future rentals from us.
Authorized Drivers
All authorized drivers must be over 21 years old with valid driver’s licenses that meet all applicable state requirements. Furthermore all drivers must agree not to use our vehicles for prohibited purposes listed above before signing off on their respective agreements when renting a vehicle from us.
Smoking Materials & Other Substances Prohibited
Smoking materials and other substances such as drugs are strictly prohibited inside our vehicles while in possession during the rental period and may incur an additional fee of up to $300 depending on severity of damage caused afterwards should it be discovered upon inspection after returning the vehicle.
Cancellation Policy
If for whatever reason you need to cancel your reservation prior to renting a vehicle from us you may do so at least 6 days in advance with full refund minus administration fee(s). Any cancellations occurring less than 5 days before pickup may result in forfeiture of deposits given at time of booking depending on individual rental agreements.
Record Checks & Related Requirements
All renters must undergo record checks prior renting a vehicle from us with no reckless driving convictions within 36 months; DUI/DWI/DWAI convictions within 48 months; and fewer than three moving violations or accidents within 24-36 months respectively before being approved for renting one our vehicles. Failure to meet these requirements may cause denial of services even after making reservations accordingly ahead of time so please make sure all records are up-to-date prior requesting a reservation for one our vehicles even if you have rented from us previously without incident(s).
Use of Vehicle
The Lessee will use the Vehicle in a good and careful manner and will comply with all of the manufacturer’s requirements and recommendations respecting the Vehicle and with any applicable law, whether local, state or federal respecting the use of the Vehicle, including, but not limited to, environmental and copyright law. The Lessee will use the Vehicle for the purpose for which it was designed and not for any other purpose. Including, but not limited to, Off-Roading, Racing, Etc. The Lessor warrants the the Lessee use of the Vehicle for the unusual purpose including but not limited to off-roading, Water-logging, Crawling,Speeding & Racing Unless the Lessee obtains the prior written consent of the Lessor, the Lessee will not alter, modify or attach anything to the Vehicle unless the alteration, modification or attachment is easily removable without damaging the functional capabilities or economic value of the Vehicle.
Loss and Damage
To the extent permitted by law, the Lessee will be responsible for risk of loss, theft, damage or destruction to the Vehicle from any and every cause. If the Vehicle is lost or damaged, the Lessee will continue paying Rent, will provide the Lessor with prompt written notice of such loss or damage and will, if the Vehicle is repairable, put or cause the Vehicle to be put in a state of good repair, appearance and condition. In the event of Total Loss of the Vehicle, the Lessee will continue paying Rent, will provide the Lessor with prompt written notice of such loss and will replace the Vehicle with encumbrance-free Vehicle of the same model, type and configuration.
Default
The occurrence of any one or more of the following events will constitute an event of default (“Event of Default”) under this Agreement: The Lessee fails to pay any amount provided for in this Agreement within fifteen days after invoice is presented; this breaches the Lessee’s obligations under this Agreement. The Lessee becomes insolvent or makes an assignment of rights or property for the benefit of creditors or files for or has bankruptcy proceedings instituted against it under the Federal bankruptcy law of the United States or another competent jurisdiction. A writ of attachment or execution is levied on the Vehicle and is not released or satisfied within 15 days.
Early Return Policy
All bookings are final and no changes can be made to the booking agreement once it has been signed. The client may be responsible for additional costs if they choose to cancel or make any changes to their booking agreement, such as rental time extensions, taxes, fees, etc. If the client does decide to return the vehicle early, no refunds will be provided for early returns. We advise our clients to carefully read through their rental agreement before signing to ensure they understand all terms and conditions related to their rental.
Conclusion
It is essential that car renters familiarize themselves with their renter agreements before signing any documents or entering into any contracts with Vehicle Providers like ourselves. The Agreement sets out the provisions that govern your use of our vehicles which includes understanding all potential charges, having knowledge of optional coverage options available for purchase and being aware of prohibited uses when renting cars from us. As long as these points are kept in mind while renting a car from us then no further issues should arise and you can enjoy making memories with ease!
